The first discussion about tpse.org took place at this meeting, where some initial opportunities, questions, priorities and outcomes were discussed by the steering group, feeding back on Saul's initial questions about tpse, and on the

Minutes of the meeting are pending. For now, here are some rough notes.

Saul's rough minutes

  • How do we measure when we have succeeded?
  • What are the problems we're trying to solve?
  • This is the first steering group meeting, to shape the focus for the Visioning event
  • Which audiences do we want to develop first?
  • Can this be a one stop shop for information about visual arts in the South East?
  • How far does this site go towards feeding into the marketing strategy?
  • How do we balance global and local focui?
  • In some ways, we want a map with points on indicating quality art resources.
  • In other ways, we want to get away from a geogrpahical focus and profile world class quality.
  • What is the simplest problem we can address?
  • What is the order of priorities?
  • Site should allow the broader tpse group & region to communicate effectively - in project sharing, development, & delivery.
  • The site should ideally expand the impact of meetings like this one - and open them up to other oppotunities.
  • The Marketing group can work with the site to raise our profile, once it's up and running as an information hub
  • The site should be content driven? But how do we achieve that and other aims?
  • We need 'push' technologh. It should reminde us of new things on site (live events/email/txt)
  • is this a regional facebook? No, because it's strategy driven
  • the tool must allow people to feel that they're contributing to tpse strategy
  • success example: tate media (content driven)
  • success criterion 1: increasing orgs & individuals ability to contribute to tpse strategy
  • success criterion 2: raising the profile of world class arts in SE/TPSE region
  • this is not just sharing documents, but sharing work & ideas
  • naming - what do we call this site?
  • there has to be an element of informality in the connections
  • we are also nurturing a community
